See, now this is the sort of information that should have been in the original post. Two tidbits of information that will answer half of the initial questions on people's minds. Thanks Rob.

My personal review: This is a great trimmer, worked nicely for about 3years. Thought it would be helpful.

FYI, This is the lowest price I have ever seen.

Had this trimmer or the similar 5000 model. It served me well for 2 years. Then the head turned loose and it was useless.
Only thing I didn't like was how noisy it was.

Thanks OP.

Does anyone know how this model compares to the QG3280 Multigroom Pro [amazon.com]? I purchased this six years back and it's still running strong but needs a new nose trimmer attachment. The "newer version" and similar ones have a ton of individual trimmer attachments that, to me, would be a PITA.

I don't use the shaver attachment (or whatever that top is that's pictured in my link) so I think this 3100 would fit the bill. Due to the big price difference ($52 for the QG3280 vs $12.99 for 3100), wondering if there's a reason behind it.

I have the one on the Deal for more than 1 year and is pretty decent. Holds the charger pretty good. And the nose attachment works fine. I use mine in wet (shower) and dry and still working.

My wife and I have used this to cut our boy's hair for the last year and it has worked great! Saved us lots of money compared to going to the local barber.

I've been using norelco beard trimmers for around 15 years. This particular model I got last time was a disappointment. It has a design flaw with how the blade heads twist on to the main unit. Since they are plastic the twisting motion over time wears down the plastic and makes the trimmer head loose
