Petco has the Aqueon Pro 250 submersible aquarium heater for 29.69. It is normally 59.00. It is a great heater for larger fish tanks. Other sizes are also on sale. The best part about these heaters is that they come with a limited lifetime warranty.

I have to disagree. I have 2 go bad, 1st one just stop working and got it replaced under warranty. Replacement split apart exposing the heating element. Sent a picture to the company and they replaced it for the 2nd time.

This is perfect to use when I go deep diving, so that I don't freeze to death.
And don't ask where I'm putting it.....

Aw man. Well they used to be good. Do you prefer another brand?

They seem to be about mid level for durability. The lifetime warranty seems great but I would rather not have my heater fail in the first place. I quit using this model after the 3rd replacement. The thermostat in it got stuck and it cooked my tank. 1200 worth of livestock getting boiled not covered under warranty. The first 1 split open and the 2nd one was releasing a charge that shocked me when hands were in the tank. On a brighter note I have a previous one about 6 years old now still keeping a 55 perfect temp.

Adjusts to between 68-88 degrees F... so probably not.

My Fluval E just went haywire and was cooking my fish (was up to 93 when set at 82.) My backup is the only one running now, so this is good timing.

Anyone know of a smartthings device that can monitor aquarium temps?

Don't get caught up in the $59 MSRP. I bought on Amazon for $26.99 a few months ago. Yes the 250 watt model. Still a good price and it's always good to see aquarium deals.

Purchased this identical 250 model in August 2016. Worked great and then last month it stopped working after only 15 months just as temps were getting colder. I called Aqueon and I had a replacement in 3 or 4 days. Pretty happy with the replacement process but if the replacement fails in a similar amount of time I will not be pleased.
