Our dogs love these Nylabones, but only for the sole purpose of taking the heavier ones, sharpening their edges with their teeth, and dropping them directly on bare feet.

I can find little shavings of the plastic on the floor from when my dog makes his shanks. One could say he's a connoisseur of dangerous prison weapons.

The good thing is it occupies hours of his time and it's wholesome family fun! Thank you Nylabone!

Unless you're the one getting shanked.

These are fake though, we only buy real genitalia aka bully sticks for our pooch.

We attach a small pair of vise grips to the end of our dog's bully sticks, so he can chew them down to a nub without fear of him swallowing said nub...great idea until he drops said vise grips on our bare feet. He's become quite proficient with his aim.

I've owned several dogs, but have never had one that would chew on any Nylabone except the very soft (tranlucent) puppy variety, which went FAST. I've tried different flavors, never had any luck, so I gave up years ago.

I also clamp the end of bully sticks so my dog doesn't swallow them, but my clamp is attached to a string that limits him to his designated chewing area. The missus isn't too keen on bully stick and slobber juices all over the carpet so he's limited to a mat. Might help with your feet, too.

As far as the Nylabone is concerned, the one pictured with the red middle and 4 knobs sticking out is by far my dog's favorite non-food chew toy. He's a nibbler more than a chewer, and the shape lets him hold it firmly while he nibbles it into the "nylabone shank" others mentioned earlier...
