With these codes, the $10 credit is really there to offset the $9 activation fee. You generally end up paying $199 for a $200 gift card purchase.

The activation fee is $3.95. Shipping is close to $9. That's why you use the free shipping code not a free activation code.

My guess is the OP has an AMEX offer for 10$ cashback with the purchase of 200$ gift cards. So with the shipping waived the math comes out to 200 + 3.95 (activation) - $10 cashback = 193.95 which is a net of 6.05. You might want to add YMMV to your title as not everyone will have this deal (I did not). I had this offer earlier in the year in my amex, it seems to pop up every now and again. Also, do not forget your favorite C B site Tango Charlie Bravo for an additional 3$ back. I can verify it does post as I have had it credit back twice now. Enjoy!

Amex offers has 10 off if you spend 200.
If you have Amex and the offer available on your card and is willing to spend 200. I suggest pay the shipping fee of 8.95 and you will still be in profit 1.05 Applause

I bought 8 $25 cards like this . It is useful for gifting over a period .. better than store cards !

Per my post above, it should be close to 6$ in profit right? assuming you have the offer on your card.

This person bought multiple cards. Each card has it own activation fee, correct? In that case, the free activation code is better. If you are only buying one $200 card, then the free shipping code is the way to go.

Ah good point. Totally moot in my case since I do not have the 10$ amex offer at this point Frown This is a great little money maker and these cards last for a long time.
