The HKTS 16 and 30 have two 3" mid-range drivers and one .75" tweeter for each of the 4 satellite speakers. While the HKTS 20 only has a single 3" mid-range driver and one .75" tweeter. What that means is you'll get fuller sound because of the extra 3" mid-range driver. It will also help "blend" the satellite speakers to the subwoofer.
A common problem on "cheap" 5.1 speakers/sub setups is that there's a gap between the mid-range and the sub sound or the subs don't go low enough because they're trying to fill a "higher" sound. But all of this can be a mute point if someone hooks these up to a weak/cheap receiver so keep that in mind. Any of these systems will crush built in TV audio. But as for upgrading in a few months, if you get the audio bug/itch there's always something better and more expensive.

Great deal for the HKTS 30, I picked those up on Black Friday for 249. I paired the speakers with a Sony STR-DH770 (I got for 199) and it sounds amazing.
I think you can buy a wireless receiver and make the entire audio system wireless. You will have run cables to all the speakers from the receiver though.
The subwoofer in the HKTS 20 and 30 package gives this deal it's value. It's hard to outmatch this deal based on the subwoofer and sale price. Just be sure to get a quality multi-channel receiver which will cost more than the speakers/sub here. Keep in mind that speakers don't need to be upgraded as frequently as TV's and receivers. It's not uncommon for speakers/subs to last 10 years, if not longer. I would spend the extra $55 and get the HKTS 30 for that reason alone. But if budget is a serious concern then the HKTS 20 are an equally good deal for what you're getting here.

Vizio soundbar is ideal for my apartment. But this deal is too tempting.

That's right; you need a receiver. These are not powered speakers.
