This is @ $99.99 (a bargain) but what makes it a fantastic deal is using code;SAMSUNG20 for $20 off - total cost incl F/S is $79.99

Terrible deal for those who love 20V, but a great deal for anyone still using 18V. The tool alone could go for this price, and you get 2 batteries a charger and a hard case. Would be interesting to know whether this case will fit the DCF88x impacts. Unfortunately you will not get many TU on this, because most SD'ers really hate on the old 18v. It is worth saying that the 20v technology is way beyond the 18v, it is not just a difference of 2v.

Good point but $80 vs $250 is a huge gap to bridge. I personally have the XRP set and love it. You could always buy the adapter and use the smaller lighter batteries. It would cost me a small fortune to shift all at this point. .

The difference is in battery chemistry alone and there is no actual voltage difference between 18v and 20v Max*. The fine print associated that asterisk on DeWalt/Porter Cable/Black&Decker packaging and advertising says that the battery is actually 18v under use and is only at 20v when fully charged and without a load.

That being said, the 20v Max* batteries are Li-ion, which is far superior to the old Ni-Cds as seen in this deal.

If you're heavily invested into the 18v family, this is an incredible deal considering you also get the two batteries (and you probably need them). I know this deal isn't getting a lot of upvotes since it is the older NiCad (which is obviously not as good of battery tech as Li-ion), but for those not wanting to upgrade all their tools, its a killer deal. Heck, its a good deal even if you just need the two batteries!

DeWalt makes an adapter to use 20v li-ion battery with their 18v stuff. http://www.dewalt.com/products/ac...er/dca1820
