Need to know before this ##$$ sells out. This or the Vivitek?
I'll be checking AVS Forums in the mean time.

Wow. If it were the 65 for 1750-1900 I might bite.

I think the 65 is better, except for games, as it has horrible latency over the 60, due to extra processing.

Games are secondary to me, but not unimportant. I'm holding out for things to drop sometime in the spring I think. But if the 65 hit 1900 (new not refurb'd) before summer I'd jump quickly.

What's the status of the 4K projector market? Last I saw was about 2 years ago in Tokyo a Sony 4K short-throw projector that looked amazing at the Sony Store in Tokyo.....and now we have $1500 4K projectors. Is this (and the Vivitek) real 4K? I assume HDR isn't available at this price (yet)?

This optima is 4K upscaling not native
Also this is DLP not 3LCD if you are looking for LCD technology

Benq is supposed to start selling w1700/ht2550 soon. Will have 4k hdr and 3D. They will also have higher tier version, but same processor with more features. Benq quality is getting my hopes up.

Regardless, these are all not true 4k pixel by pixel projectors but more than likely cannot be easily distinguished with one in terms of resolution. Picture quality and features are a different story.

Cheapest real 4k projector is around 5K from Sony.

In the product specifications, the UHD60 says that it supports 1440p-1556 resolutions, just in case you your video card isn't up for the task.
The Vivitek does not in it's spec, but not saying that it does or does not though.

What's the chance of having no or limited hours on the Lamp? Or just factory returns. Good warranty. Good price. Good return policy.

Letting go of my Optoma HD20 which served me well. Can't wait to see what a 4K projector is going to look like when I piece the next system together.
