I never even knew this existed, thanks! Looking for different prices, this is the best I've seen.

Says:

Preconfigured RAID 0, also configurable to RAID 1

So I'm assuming there's 2 4TB's in there?

note that this isn't a NAS, it's just a VERY fancy HDD enclosure... it only has a USB output, there's no gigabit port to hook up to your network.

The fastest USB3 transfers I have seen to date are 100 to 120 MB/sec....I wonder how fast this would be on my system.

Cheaper than my WD My Book Duo 8TB that I'm happy with. I too wonder how you can achieve 400MB/s.

I get 270MB/s writes on my Sandisk extreme USB drive. 360MB/s reads. USB3 isn't the bottleneck. It's the harddisk. Using it Raid-0 you'll get around 200MB/s and Raid-1 you'll get 100-120MB/s or whatever the perf of 1 drive is.

I've had very good luck with this same drive and this is a fantastic price but please make sure to thoroughly look over the unit when you receive it from Adorama. I purchased a new 8TB G-tech drive from them before (same model) and it was clearly USED, not new. It took forever going back and forth with customer support to finally get a refund.
