Thought I'd share my recent experience with Adorama….. I bought an Ibanez bass guitar from Adorama recently. It was obviously a return or open box item. The original Ibanez box seals were cut and it was resealed with Adorama tape. The packing inside was torn and scattered in the box. There was minor damage on the neck of the guitar. Another customer replied to the original deal thread saying they received a guitar that wasn't even in an Ibanez box. Adorama did offer a small (inadequate) partial refund which I accepted only because this was a gift and I didn't want the hassle and stress of finding a replacement and risk shipping deadlines this close to Christmas. Of course they were out of stock so a replacement from Adorama was not an option. Definitely a very big disappointment, negative experience and major hassle. Shame on Adorama for selling a return, display or open box item as new. Beware.

Friend of mine is taking them to court. They shipped him an iMac advertised as certain specs, then found the security seal broken on the box, the Mac having a smaller hard drive inside (but the serial number matches - so someone opened the computer). He only noticed after he threw away the box. Adorama refuses to take it back because he doesn't have the original box.
