On the warranty front, it was mentioned as 1 yr for parts and labor. Is that from Applecare?

Limited Warranty period (parts): 1 year
Limited Warranty period (labor): 1 year

The catch is it's an apple. You're simply paying more for what you can pay much less for with the same exact specs or even better specs. As it's a MacBook Air you're locked in at those 128 gigabytes of storage and the RAM and storage cannot be increased..

PLUS that's DDR3, yeah 3, Ram m--as in last gens ram. and a low res display. What a deal!

This is like a 12.9 ipad pro with a keyboard and a really crappy display.

I wouldn't recommend a surface product either. If you really need something form factor there are so many better options at much better prices.

I use and love my Surface Pro 3daily for work but the build quality is def not as good as Apple.
I had to revive mine and tried freezing/heating and bending (which worked!)

Yeah it was very scary!
The screen wouldnt turn on one day. I saw lights were still active on my keyboard and power light still lit up. Went to do some research and found it was some sort of sleep issue.
I freaked out since I just backed up my phone with all pictures and stuff onto it.

Long story short. I tried freezing it - didn't work. Heating it - seemed to work for a bit.
And then bending it a little fixed it. And is running extremely well months later.
I think it was a connector that loosened internally - so some heat and bend put it back in place.
Scary thing is that it happened to many other people.

I think its still a great machine but I would use a daily backup or invest in an extended warranty.
