I have this as well, have enjoyed it, except when cooking fatty meats. I have trouble handling the excess grease. I may be doing something wrong, have you experienced this at all?

Love this, got it as a wedding gift 3 years ago. I grill boneless skinless chicken on it weekly. Great for quick burgers paninis, etc. The plates are dishwashable and the grease catch works well. Very versatile. Being able to cool stuff on two sides saves a lot of time.

Does the grease catch overflow?

See tha wee little square notch in the rear of the plate inbetween the 2 round notches? That is your over flow. If it gets slightly clogged, you have a mess. If you have a steady stream of liquid (say an egg white on a tilt), you have a mess. Its not like a george forman that can handle a torrent of liquid. The over flow is more of a backup in case of emergency.

I have this for a month and can confirm that this is true. The grill is great for chicken, bacon, n eggs. But wouldn't be ideal for a lot of fat like the George foreman.

The great part is that it easily transforms into a griddle and that there are 2 separate temp controls.

I bought one of these last year. It hasn't turned out to be as useful to me as I thought it would be. The good part is that you do get pretty good control over temperature, which is good for eggs, pancakes and other stuff I cook on the griddle.

For grilling, it falls short of a cheap cast iron grill pan. The problem with all of these sandwich presses sold as grills is that it steams the meat when closed. I prefer real grilling.

One thing it might be good for is searing meat that has been cooked sous vide. I haven't tried it myself.
