This laptop has been reviewed by various reviewers and it is overall a better choice over the Dell Insprion 15 Gaming. The GPU is a standard 1060 vs MAX-Q in Dell; so around 10% better performance, higher capacity battery, RGB Keyboard, very good quality sound and overall sturdier build.

Not worth the $300 price difference with smaller SSD compared to the costco deal in my opinion, after tax the gap widens even more.

Y'all seem to be missing that this is an i7 7700hq vs the i5 7300hq in the costco deal. This also has. 1TB for storage in addition to SSD but the other only has a 256gb SSD.

Excellent deal. You get
a) i7 instead of i5
b) the real 1060 not the 1060 max q
c) rgb keyboard
d) additional storage space
e) xbox integration

The only cons I see
a) 8GB RAM
b) slightly heavier when compared to the competition
c) less than stellar IPS display (most of the laptops in this price range including Dell 7577 also comes with more or less the same quality display units)
d) three week shipping time
e) weird design of num keypad (will turn out to be a major issue if you use number keypad a lot)

The performance increase does not justify that huge price increase. If it was within $100 fine, $300 + tax difference no way.

because it houses a full fledged GTX 1060 instead of a Max-Q version in Dell and also packs a bigger battery as well.

Why is 8gb bad? When would you need more than that? I don't know much about computers (sadly) but I play a lot of games. Would you say this is a good gaming laptop?

It is not about what is necessary for gaming. 8GB is still perfectly fine for most games. But at this price point, most of the comparable laptops coming with 16GB Ram which is future proof.
