Call amazon they will straighten it out, did you know you can ask for an American operator which always is faster to get something done and of course supports American workers.

Aus-8 is a steel used in kitchen knives and it is solid for anti corrosiveness and ease of sharpening, but it has been superceded by VG 10 as VG 10 doesn't seem to dull as quickly (for a little leas anti corrosiveness). Afaik, it has to do with Aus-8 needing a higher temperature to gain the same edge durability, but I could be mistaken. This 8cr13mov is nearly identical to Aus-8 in composition, just a Chinese steel vs Japanese. Some may poo poo it in favor of a Japanese, German or Swiss composition as the standards aren't nearly as controlled in China, but this is (IMO) a good deal from a reputable company for a length of blade that is best used for picnics and letter opening

Can't ship to my address? Must be flagged as a switch blade? Bought other assisted Kershaws without issue from Amazon.

Speedsafe is speedsafe. Are you sure the others had that?

I have a couple with it, it's damn near automatic once broken in. I like it.

$19 seems a little steep for the Chinese steel

It is Chinese steel, but they jacked the composition from Japanese Aus-8. Imo, coming from a professional cook of over a decade, blade keeness depends on the Rockwell hardness for this steel. http://skif-knives.com/en/publica...cr13mov-en

I wish I understood what that means. Are you saying that from your cook experience this is a good blade?

Good knife, handles well, light, and it's an RJ Martin design so the ergonomics are good. At this price it's a great knock around EDC. The only issue I've had with China made Kershaws is looser QA/QC typically demonstrated in speedsafe blades being too easy or too hard to open, but typically you can take them apart with a Torx and clean/oil/adjust them to work fine.
