Thanks for the post, it hit my alert. Looking for similar but with touch screen. (do touch screens come in anti glare?) weirdly I'm also looking for a platter hard drive (1tb or so).

I recently read an article about that on one of the computer review sites. (I wish I could remember where; perhaps a search would tell you) It stated that because of the type of glass used on a touch screen, all they can do is put an anti-glare coating and that cannot measure up to a non-touch, anti-glare screen.

I know it may be comparing apple to orange, but is it a better value than Microsoft' Lenovo Flex 5 for $500 deal?

Unless I am mistaken, this looks to be the same 15-5000 laptop that was $450 last week with the slickdeals coupon & rebate here.

Don't go by the clock speed. This 8th Generation Processors are near 40% more powerful than their 7th Gen counterparts, say i5-7200U. In fact, this processor can perform better than a 45W Quad core i5-6300HQ which you see in 15" gaming laptops, while consuming 1/3rd of the power.

This 1.6GHz CPU has 3.4 GHz Turbo Boost and the best part is that they can maintain that during load, resulting 25% boost in single threaded performance and 40% in multi threaded apps.

This Laptop has one M.2 port and one 2.5" port. So, you can easily add a 1TB HDD on it and that can be achieved pretty easily by removing the back cover.

Haven't seen many touch screen deals in this price range. I don't need a 2 in 1 but those deals are more abundant so I will eventually end up with one of those.
