Neither.IMO,Polk is a value audio company and originally the line was trying to compete in the high end audio market and most audiophiles simply dismiss Polk as high end and for the MSRP they probably weren't selling very well. The discounted price bring these back to their roots which is value and except for the most discriminatory audiophiles these are great with great aesthetic, build and that "high end" sound even if it is missing that certain something that they were originally marketing these speakers to be.

What's the catch here? are they brand new? Amazon and everywhere else would cost you thousands more to buy those.

Yes it is, I'm starting to wonder where all this stock is coming from on these deals. Wonder if the rumor I heard about them having a successor to the LSiM line is true and Polk is trying to clear out it's last couple purchase orders as they show up from China.

I was also curious as to why these have been on such big sales in recent months. Polk is going under? Or adorama?

The problem here is these speakers will still need a powerful amplifier. Polk says these need 225-300 Watts @8ohms to sound great.

Still trying to find a good enough amp to run these.

If you find one I would be interested in what you use. I'm waiting to pull the trigger on these for my future atmos setup.

I own 703s and I can tell you that this line is definitely warmish/laid back/darkish. They are remarkable for most kinds of music but people may not experience the full range Dynamics expected from movie soundtracks in a theater setup.

i'd love to see where it says so. it may say it can handle that power, but i hardly know any speakers that require such power.
