I would say its not the best deal ever, but it is a good deal. I've been checking regularly and prices seem pretty steady.

Been keeping an eye on these lately. Any apple people out there that have tried these? I've had macs for years now, but I think I'm ready to try something new. My wife's macbook air is starting to slow down and give her issues. The iPad Pro doesn't catch my eye because I want it to completely replace my need for a computer, so I'm wondering if the surface is the way to go. Any advice?

My experience is Don't go with 4GB unless you do only very basic work.

Yeah but Staples didn't honor most of those and claimed they were out of stock even though folks received order confirmation. They also sent out this model to many people as well instead of the 256GB model

Costco is $899 with pen and two year warranty for those with Costco membership. You get 4 year warranty if you use the Costco Visa. If you can go the Costco route I'd opt for that.

Who handles the warranty in the first or second year? Costco or Microsoft?

Hello iMac and surface pro user here. I really like the versatility of the surace, it really can replace your standard laptop and computer. There's no sacrifice in function at all. The only down fall is that the windows store is not as robust as the Apple store so if you love running a bunch of apps you may not like it.
