Not in my opinion. Ads seem to be the most common attack vector now. I just run ad/tracking blockers personally and have never had a problem. That's not to say that doing dumb things can't still bite you.

Because there's an overhead to real-time virus scanning? Virus scanning, including Windows Defender, are resource hogs.

I have been using ESET Nod32 for over 10 years and my company has EndPoint antivirus for over 25 licenses and expires in 3 years, never had issues. Great antivirus.

I don't quite agree with you on that. I see malspam as a leading attack vector and I'm sure we'll see more supply chain attacks in the near future. I wouldn't shun AV because of overhead, rather choose a reputable AV that's also lighter on resources.

My go to 3: Nod32, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware.

Just picked up a renewal of Nod32 here for a great price
Got a LIFETIME pro version of Malwarebytes from another slickdeals promo
Paid 9 bucks for pro SuperAntiSpyware on here as well

Now for fun I click on every single link I come across. (not really)

Great deal though!

I can't recall if you have to explicitly turn it off or not but nod32 would be filling the same core purpose. My guess is you'd have to turn if off manually since MS really wants you to keep it on.

Thank you, I'm using Nod32 for good 10 years or more. It is a fine antivirus. That is a good deal, check out with shoprunner for free shipping, and e-b-a-t-e-s also has 2% for you. Win win

Ive never heard of this brand. Would you suggest this deal or this Webroot from Fry's? I've had it and been happy with it. I need to buy one for my kid's chromebooks.
