This is coming up like an unwanted rash. Most people do not care for 1366x768 screens anymore. 4 GB and no SSD. Cold deal. No surprises about the down votes

Aside from those items mentioned, anyone who plans to use a laptop off of battery should opt for 4th generation or newer, the unit mentioned in this thread is 3rd and should be avoided.

The increase in battery life from 3rd to 4th generation is 30% to 50%, according to Intel.

Despite the thumbs down, I think this laptop is a good deal, and can be quite useful for those with limited needs. The i5-3430m cpu is a decent performer despite it's age -- respectable single thread and multithread capability. Includes USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out. In my case, I'm looking to make it the 'hub' for my dual channel scope with function generator and logic analyzer. (Hub software requires WIndows.) Right now, I'm using an old P4 laptop for the hub -- definitely sucks for most uses, but handles the scope software. Would be nice to have a laptop that could also handle web browsing and other tasks.

I scanned Slickdeals for anything more powerful near this price (under $250). If anyone thinks they know a better deal, let me know!

I don't think its a bad deal for the price. The screen resolution is only an issue for some, especially at that size (although everybody has been brainwashed that 720P is terrible). And the anti-glare is usually very good on the Lattitude or above Dell models.

Also, the fact it is a Lattitude makes it overall a better machine when it comes to build, cooling, etc.

Its a good deal if your buying from Dell. A bad deal if you buy from ebay. You can pick up the same laptop on ebay with a SSD and 8 gigs of memory at the same or reduced price.
