Any projectors worth it on here? Definitely in the market, but these look like DLP and I heard 3LCD does better in well lit rooms.

GW2765HT is listed as $239 for refurb. Coupon code supposedly drops it to $189.60. But Newegg has it for $229 brand new...?

Had both DLP and 3LCD and definitely agree that DLP isn't as good in a bright room

Thanks for confirmation, just getting into researching for a purchase soon. I wouldn't say its a bright room, but not your typical basement/no window type projector room. Thanks and repped.

DLP has much better black levels. If you are looking for more of a TV replacement and you can live with poor black levels 3LCD might suit you better. But DLP is king if you are looking for the best picture overall - especially in a dark room. Epson (leader in 3LCD) has the cheapest replacement lamps in the business so it's a trade-off. Each comes with their own sacrifices.

Very good information, its in a family room area so it will be used during the day. So yes more of a TV replacement...I have definitely looked at the Epson 3LCD projectors and that is where I am leaning right now and I did not know that about the bulbs, so that is another bonus!

I wouldn't waste your money on the HT4050, it has worse contrast than the HT2050 and on a refurb sale you can pick one of those up for like $550 shipped (did this earlier this year). The 3050 and 4050 were really poor "jump ups" in comparison to the 2050. 4050 offers a lot more adjustments (horizontal keystone and horizontal lens shift added), plus frame interpolation, but it's not worth nearly twice the price of the 2050.

The HT2050 is generally considered one of the best bang for buck projectors under a grand. At $517+tax it's a killer deal.

I have mine in a light controlled basement (blackout curtains), on a 120" motorized screen. 3d is solid, blu rays are great, picture quality is great overall, PS4 gaming is fun. Just need to hook up my pc and see how it games on that.
