It's Centon. They have a long history of sneaky labeling of their drives as if they are high speed when they are not, all the way back to "Full Speed 2.0" ( = 1.1 speed). Imagine trying to put 2GB of MP3s on that :-P

Seems too good to be true, so it probably is. Decent low-end 256GB drives generally start at $40 and go up. Occasionally you'll see one for $30 in a flash sale (no pun intended), but flash prices appear to have gone up in recent months (does anyone here know why?) and I haven't seen one under $40 since summer.

Today I picked up a USB 2.0 Sandisk 128GB thumb drive at Microcenter for $22, and that was a deal IMO. A few weeks ago I got a USB 3.0 Sandisk 256GB drive from Costco via Google Express. The drive was $40 but I used a $10 promo credit to bring it down to $30. And Sandisk is a well-regarded brand.

I'd recommend avoiding this unless you lkeep multiple copies of data around just in case, and this would be a backup of a backup of a backup, so if it goes bad, you'll be ok. And use it for old archived data you won't need to update or add to, like old photos. Not for regular backups and certainly not for primary backups.

Probably better than a hard-boiled egg or a block of wood.

56GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive?

For 25 we cant really complain, the reviews are pretty bad so I would not put anything I don't want to lose.

Bought one, thanks!
