That deal is dead now and I should have mentioned the price at $329 is about 10% higher and there is a rebate to deal with. On the other hand, it is a Canon rebate, so you shouldn't worry about not getting it or anything like that:

I like this camera because it is a camera and it fits in your pocket. that's about it.

Essentially I have 3 cameras:
Cell phone for everyday, mundane photos
A pocket camera like this for trips where a DSLR is not manageable
A DSLR for when photography is a priority

Edit to add: If you're wanting to get into photography, jump right in to a DSLR. You can usually find the "last year's model" used at a great price. If you're just looking for something portable, easy to use, and better than a cell phone this is the ticket. If you want to do vlog look at the g7 x mark II instead, it is a significantly better camera, but won't fit in your pocket.

Do note that there is a G9X Mark II out now. So this is the older model.

As per many other posts I've seen regarding Amazon and their policy, everyone states they will not price match.

However, when the price is dropped by Nikon or Canon, or Walmart : ), most other retailers including Amazon and Bestbuy will drop their prices, as their algorithms detect these price changes.

Great deal on a new one. Already got G9 X Mark II for $320 (after rebate) via the printer bundle deal, otherwise would've considered this. Thumbs up.

Note that this one is not the G9 X Mark II, which has been sold in printer bundles for close to this price.

Can you post the link for G9 X Mark II bundle? What do you like about this particular camera? I'm clueless about camera. Thanks!

I would recommend the Mark II. I had the Mark 1 version of the G7X, which is comparable to this camera. It was really sluggish in terms of focus and general shooting performance. Mark II of the G7X and G9X fixed that issue with the much faster processor. I tested the Mark II at BestBuy and found them to be considerably faster than my (now sold) G7X.

This is not that great of a deal considering Gen 3 is right around the corner, and Mark II with the Pixma Pro 100 was $319 after rebate.

I would either spend a bit more on the Mark II, or wait for a rebate deal on it to come back if you are okay with rebates.

Would this be a good camera for regular vacation photos? I was thinking of getting something like a t6i or t7i and those cameras are a bit bulky. I would like a camera that can take amazing photos and not be bulky and annoying to carry. And something better than a iPhone camera.

Im in a similar situation, cellphone for everyday use and DSLR for trips and special occasions. I'm looking for a camera for in between. What's the advantage of buying a P&S like this versus something like an A5100 or A6000?
