Including sale tax, not exactly beating Newegg s price.

true for most, but in NJ we have Newegg tax, and the Microcenter here is in a 3% sales tax zone.

If I didn't have my trusty 6700k, I would've jumped on it. Great cpu for a great price. But I'll wait for 8-core mainstream cpu and z390 or whatever next platform intel will release by that time I'll need a gpu upgrade as well. Great for anyone moving from 4/4 cpus and lower.

Nice price. RAM prices and SSD prices can't fall fast enough, as they're mostly what's discouraging my system upgrade at the moment.

i was planning on a build with i5-7600k. is this worth $100 more? i dont need it to do anything special, just some VR gaming. actually, is the Pentium G4620 enough for VR gaming with GTX1060 6GB?

Issue with the Newegg one is no warranty.
Link to the no warranty terms?

Cheapest I've seen the 7600k was for 150 and I haven't seen it at that price since. I'd say this is worth it, it will last you longer. You can find a few z370 MB's for less than 130, and microcenter bundles 30 off when you buy a mb from them

1) you can get an i5-7600k for $150?
2) the new 8th gen changes the rules a bit. The 8th gen i3 is now a quad core like the previous 2nd-7th gen i5. The new 8th gen i5 is now a 6-core. That alone might be worth the extra $100 since hex-core never hit the mainstream market.
