Motorola currently has the 2nd Gen Z2 Play on sale for $350 which seems like a great deal. I'm not sure how the Z2 Play compares to the original Moto Z but it is the 64GB for $350. Seems like a better deal to me when comparing specs. I'm thinking of purchasing that Z2 Play but I can't find much information about it or any reliable reviews.

Edit: I just noticed there is a thread on Slickdeals about the current Z2 Play deal and it has some pretty good information. I searched earlier but didn't see that post for some reason.

Z2 play with SD 630 is far less powerful than original Moto Z with SD820. $350 is too high for a phone sporting Snapdragon 630 now a days.

I agree with this, I've seen other posts on Moto deals, and I don't know why people are paying $350+ for SD 6xx processor phones. It's weird. You probably will get better battery life, but it's not enough to ignore the frustration when apps start lagging.

How about LG G6 from Amazon (now it's out of stock) but that's probably the best deal these days. How would this phone compare to LG G6?
People complain about LG's support, and I never had to deal with them, but I know Moto's support is really good, they are pretty good about free service and shipping back.

Because Motorola is smooth, LG g6 I sold freaking lag like it has a snapdragon 125 processor.

Moto z has an edge over X4 and Z2 Force as it has OIS - that is if you are only interested in having good camera. Otherwise, each of Moto models in $350 range have their strengths and weaknesses. For instance, if you wan to keep the device for say 2+ years and you know you will be stuck with T-Mobile, then x4 might be better choice as it has band 66.

Was debating between Moto Z and Moto Z2 play. Eventually bought Z2 Play because it was on sale. Now It's tempting but I am not going tol return the Z2 play and buy this one.

Do you think Z will be obsolete in 2 years? X4 is inferior, isn't it?
IPS on moto is very very dull, it feels like there is another layer of plastic on top of the screen, Like the E and G lines, horrible quality, until you get used to it.

I hear what you're saying & I'm not looking to argue but sometimes I think people read a little too much into certain specs. I'm currently using a Moto G4 Play with a SD410 & it pretty much does everything I need it to do. I've been using it for exactly a year now. A Z2 Play with a SD630 would be a good upgrade for $350. I mean I guess if you're doing some extreme gaming the SD820 might be required but in most cases it's probably overkill. I can't agree that an unlocked phone for $350 should have a better processor than the SD630. Are there any unlocked phone's in that price range with a SD820?
