Anyone know if there's a way around the "new line"? Already an Unlimited customer but don't need another line (but have multiple upgrade eligible lines)

Verizon confirmed no payoff ability without nixing the promotional credits... not a great deal unless you needed another line

Rep told me you must get new line but said when you get the new device activate it with the new SIM then call to port the number from your old line to the new line then you can cancel the old line all at once. He says this will not effect the promotion at all.

Also no need to be an unlimited customer. I am not and I got the deal.

This is what I was thinking about doing. Can anyone else confirm this works or that they were able to do it? My 'old' line doesn't have any contract or device payment associated with it, so it should be easily cancellable.

Just called to confirm I was told I must be on unlimited and the rep messed up the order. I have to wait till I get the phones, activate them then call in to switch to unlimited and process discount.

As far as the old line I was told I can cancel it without effecting the promotion however I will not be able to port that old number to new line.

You can add a new line and drop the line that you already have as the monthly installments are tied to the new line. Will need to port the

We've been on unlimited for a while, so that part isn't a problem.

I've had my phone number for over 10 years though, and wouldn't want to have to change it, so if I can't start a new line and then move my phone number over to that line before cancelling the old line that would be problematic.

Seems like that should be doable as long as it was done in the right order. I'll probably stop into a verizon store and ask and see what they say.

We just did it rep said it works but said we have to have the add a line (which we used for our iPad~20 a month ) then cancel after 6 months and won't effect the promo, they waived activation and add a line costs totaling 60 dollars just by asking, don't forget paying taxes on both phones though
