The PB12-NSD subwoofer is the ultimate subwoofer over-achiever. Simply put it provides room-energizing pants-flapping bass for a fraction of the cost of the typical reference subwoofer. SPLs and output also compare with much larger ported box subwoofers but with a greater control and accuracy from the sophisticated Sledge amplifier overbuilt driver and precisely tuned cabinet.

It's there, albeit complicated. A little too complicated, for me, any time part of the deal process must be subcontracted out to someone else.

BUt if you do this, must be the greatest subwoofer deal so far short of DIY. Maybe not better than Klipsch 15" for $400, but that didn't hit $400 this year (looks like $479 was the best it got, and w/o the wireless kit)! Great deal, this thing would be awesome for $400.

Yep, that is why I always buy the ebay gift cards in advance and keep them stocked up. Especially when 15% is available.

So to get the deal, I can buy 2 gift cards a day with Samsung pay. I would need 7 ($75 x 7 = $525) of them so that would take me 4 days.
Each card would be $67. $67 x 7 = $447. Then the eBay bucks would get me the last 10% to get it to $400?

This is a good deal but lot of work.

20-39pci or 20-39pc plus?

the pci is basically identical performance to the PB12-NSD, but 10 years old, so if that's what you're talking about the PB12-NSD for $50 more brand new is an easy choice.

If it's the 20-39PC Plus that's a higher performing sub and a tougher choice

Performance is identical between series regardless of shape.. or as SVS puts it-

Quote from SVS :
If enclosure volume is about the same, there are no significant disadvantages, in terms of raw performance, due to a box shape versus a cylinder.
They go on to elaborate a bit-

Quote from SVS :
But (there has to be a "but" right??)... boxes do lend themselves to multi-driver configurations that are simply not practical in a cylinder design. The PB12-NSD has single woofer so as you might expect, it's virtually identical to a 20Hz tuned version of our 20-39PCi subwoofer (especially since it shares all the same parts as the PCi subs). If you are with us so far then, you already know that when we released a PB12-Plus/2 a few years back (Powered Box, with two 12" "Plus" woofers and three way porting) you could expect it to perform nearly like two of our top-selling and industry-unique 20-39PC-Plus subs. Boxes can be made bigger and more powerful than a cylinder for those wanting the pinnacle of performance in a single sub.

So basically for a single-driver sub there's no performance difference in shape assuming the same sub otherwise (ie regular 20-39 to PB12-NSD, or 20-39 PC Plus to the PB12 Plus)

As to your situation, in a small to bordering low medium room the new PB12-NSD should be fine, in a larger space, if the PC+ cylinder checks out as working 100% it might be worth going that way, with the understanding it won't have a warranty.
