Avoid all samsung and LG appliances. Parts are not readily available and they will need repair parts. Stick w whirlpool, Maytag, ge, etc.

I bit on buying one. This same fridge is marketed under Kenmore brand which is selling for $1,498 on clearance by Sears. I always think they cheapen a few of the parts (ice maker, control panel) for the Kenmore brand. Would rather pay the extra $40 for the LG brand as I think Kenmore has a stigma of bad quality/ going bankrupt and I plan on selling my house in the next 2 years. I tried to get Home Depot to honor a 10% movers Lowes coupon but said it didn't work on appliances (might work with a different rep).

need a new fridge freezer.... keep hearing horror stories about LG & samsung, even with warranty they have labor charge for fitting the part, which can be up to $400 for the compressor.

Would a local brand be more reliable?

How long would you like these appliances to last for?

Seems that your averaging 8 years on each appliance....

My Siemens washer & dryer appliances have been running over 13 years with no issues. Appliances should last at least 12 years with no problems, anything that lasts less than 8 years and the company is taking you, the customer for a ride!
