You are kidding, right?

130 degrees is not about heat, but the viewing angle. Drink more coffee.

ok keeping on track with the original question. this is likely not the capacitor model. but i wish it were. because i live in the middle part of the country and it still gets too hot for most battery electronic that sit in the window during the summertime. even in the 90 degree temperature range, those sun rays are direct and it heats up pretty hot inside the car. i have had half dozen devices battery swell up on me and i have done the work myself to convert a few into capacitor. for the cheap price, i would look into pulling the battery on this one and replacing it with a capacitor once you see what kind of data you might lose.

so the numbers don't refer to the temperature rating of the device (those can be found inside the documentation) but it isn't a marketing ploy. if you exceed the temp, you will likely eventually destroy your device. what works in pa may not work in az.

Anyone know the difference between this (130°) and 160° view angle [amazon.com] besides the view angle.

Yi 160° was Lightning Deal for $38 a few weeks ago.

Wonder if the lens is interchangeable with the 150' Yi lite action cam.
Prefer a 130 for FPV and wider for in-dash.

I'm located in PA, so we never hit anything beyond 100 degrees, but I always wonder if that extra 30°F would really make or break something like this? The cynic in me says it's just another subtle marketing ploy.

At any rate, thank you op, I was recently in the market for a dash cam in this price range, and it was between this Yi and the Pruveeo (mainly bc both have wifi capabilities). I eventually went with Pruveeo, but had the Yi been this price I would have gotten that instead.

Is it Sony sensor, the Night image they have on page seems pretty distorted.

f/2.0 vs f/1.8 in the prior $38 FP one. So in theory, worse night vision.
