WOW! I literally just looked at this item this morning, looked at the $16.99 price, decided I should wait til a few buck cheaper so added a deal alert. 3 hours later, and boom!

Great price on a good CRI light. Thanks!

So this is not the 2017 model? Is it like last year's model?

I picked up a 2017 model, it's really nice, very well built.

Looks like its the 2017 model, picture shows the clip. If it does not I will dispute the transaction.

Also looks like the coupon only works on the black one, which kind of sucks because the paint chips really easy. I have the holiday red/blue version and u see a lot of the silver aluminum under, wanted to pick up the grey or silver version to alleviate this.

Other than that, the price is so good I'm ordering another.

Only works for black as well. There are a lot of other colors I'd prefer.

I'd rather have a sale for the non-CRI non-Nichia version. I prefer substantially more brightness (350 lumens vs. 220) and efficiency over light warmness and "quality". It's not like I'll be using the light for reading text for an extended time or enjoying artworks.
Is the non-CRI/CREE version worth the extra $3? Forgive me, first time hearing of these terms CRI and Nichia. I want efficient and bright but not to the point of where it hurts. Is the 220 non CRI is bright enough for everyday normal stuff, doesn't have to be broad daylight. Just enough to warn others at night, see in the dark etc.

So is CRI bluer vs yellow and does it make it better because of this or because it's brighter?

The answer is yes....

It's all about color temperature and harshness for me. I have one of Nichia ones and and a non-Nichia ones and the Nichia one is more pleasant and useful. They are plenty bright enough, Nitecore doesn't pad their lumen numbers so 220 lumens is really 220 lumens.

It's the difference between being able to see and inspect and read something vs being blinded by the glare of it.
