The 1080p display is "14.0" (16:9) LED backlit FHD (1920x1080) 60Hz Anti-Glare Panel with 45% NTSC with 178˚ wide-viewing angle display", which almost certainly means IPS. There are no reviews on notebookcheck of this particular model. It says on the asus website it's a nanoedge display, but their nanoedge page only features the UX430/UX530. Perhaps some abuse of terminology happening, but I would bet money it's an IPS at least, although how good of one (brightness, contrast ratio, color coverage) is only up to speculation. It's a popular misconception that IPS screens are all made equal. If it's the same display as the UX430 that would be fantastic but I'm not counting on it. It does have antiglare matte coating.

Direct competitor to the Lenovo 720s, which has been sold lately for roughly the same price.

The only thing this has over the 720s is the 2.5" drive space.

Other than that, the 720s is better: T-bolt 3 port, better screen, better GPU.

I posted that deal as well. The Asus one has more poweful processor i7-8550U vs i5-8250U in Lenovo. So that is another advantage for the Asus. And i7-8550U is a very powerful processor. Because of the higher turbo speed and 8MB Cache, it even beats 45W i7-7700HQ in lots of benchmarks and actually performs better for shorter period of time.

I own one of these...and the battery is terrible. Apart from that...everything else is excellent.

Shoot, I was expecting a good battery life, considering the specs there was bound to be some catch.

One of the reviews says the hard drive is "non-upgradeable". I can't find any information on the product pages about a 2.5" drive bay.

I still don't see anything on that page, I also searched the page for "2.5" and there are no matches. Frown
