Verizon moto z play droid 32 GB at best buy $240 no bill credits

+4 Deal Score

Best buy has the Verizon - Moto Z Play Droid 4G LTE with 32GB Memory Cell Phone - Black/Lunar Gray on sale for $240. NO BILL CREDITS, you can pay it off with no extra costs. There is no early termination fee because you aren't signing a contract. If you were in a contract (which almost no one is these days) then there could be an etf of $350, which is why that's in the fine print.

Certainly no where near last year's deals but pretty good price for a decent phone.

IN STORE PICK UP ONLY.

May have to bite on this one. VZW also has it at $10 month but with bill credits.

edit: Only available for store pickup. Can you add that to your description OP

I got the Moto z Droid for free after device credits in January this year. I wonder if we can expect any similar good deals early next year...

This is not a terrible deal. I don't know how slick it is though.

edited: I'm going ahead and giving TU and calling slick because of no monthly credits.

Yes, OP. Please add local pickup to your post. Got all excited about this but it's not available within 250 miles of me.

Done, sorry about that. None within 250 miles of me either. Plus,I believe, isn't this the same phone that best buy was selling last year for $120 plus the speaker and battery mod, also with no bill credits? I made out like a bandit on that one.....If this is the same phone then 240 is not a good price for a phone this old.

Just checked stores from Pittsburgh down to Tampa - "not available for pickup within 250 miles".

I believe it's the same. That deal last year got no love here. Everyone was focused on the Pixel deal for $240. I got both. I think the Pixel is a better phone mainly because of the far better camera and better battery life. But I sold my 2 mods for $60ea, so the Z was free, making it a killer deal!

Edit: wait, wasn't last year's the Moto Z Droid? (No "play")

Yep last year was the Z Droid. Got two of those and 3 Pixels. That was a fun time. Come on Pixel 2!

As an owner of a Z Play, I'm pretty sure the "Droid" version just means "for Verizon" so the only difference should at most be bands.

Also, while I'm sure some people may like the Pixel better there is no way the Pixel's battery life is better. The Z Play routinely gets 10+ hrs SOT which is one of the reasons I bought the phone coming from a Moto X Pure. I love the Play but it's not for everyone. I wanted Amoled, efficiency, Moto gestures, and the Moto Mod ability was just a bonus. This phone is well worth $300 IMO. You will never worry about charging your phone again. I routinely go 3 days before running out. Just yesterday I did 7hrs of Waze and still have 30% left =P

The main difference between Z Play and Z Play Droid is the latter has a locked bootloader/no root (and highly unlikely for that to change). As a Z Play Droid owner, I can attest to the ridiculously long battery life. I didn't even consider the Moto gestures when buying but it's one of the features I use most. Twist the phone twice (even when locked) for the camera and do a tomahawk chop twice for flashlight is super handy. Got it in July from BB for $120 (DPP, which you could pay off almost instantly). Moto Z2 Play is seen by most as a downgrade.

Ah, good point on the bootloader. I totally forgot about that since 1) I don't have Verizon, and 2) I use Republic Wireless so my rooting/ROM options are limited.

Having started with a Moto X (original), Moto gestures are pretty indispensable. The camera and flashlight gestures are things I use all the time. Moto display is pretty great as well, though Google's ambient display isn't horrendous.

The Z2 Play is definitely a downgrade.
And $120 is an absolute steal, nicely done!

I seen way better deals on this phone! It's a good phone though, irregardless of this high price.
