If you expect any real longevity out of these, you're going to want one with the metal/rubber auger like the SJ620 or SJ621. I've been pleasantly surprised by mine. 4 uses so far this winter and it has powered through 8+" of heavy plow berm with surprisingly little trouble.

Cold and plastic don't really mix well, especially when the plastic part is a fast-spinning auger and you throw a couple rocks into the equation.

I have the Snow Joe Ultra SJ622E, so far has been great. Used it 4 times so far, also in 8+ in of snow. Also wanted to add in the metal rubber auger is the way to go.

I bought one of these to clear my wood deck. Used it through a couple of New England winters. Would definitely recommend.

Might give this a try to help clear part of my roof off rather than shoveling

As far as the steel auger goes, I'm showing the SJ621 at $156, which doesn't seem bad...but I have no reference for if that is a good price.

I own this. It's only good when there is a lot of snow. Minimum 6 inches. Otherwise it just blows it a couple feet.

Amazing snow blower. Electric is the way to go. Push of a button and it starts. I had gas and it was a pain in the ass

Purchased one for the driveway. Clogged if you go a normal walking place or the snow is icy. Plus dragging the cord and spending time winding it away got old fast (particularly when covered in snow). Returned it.

The correctly rated 15 amp weather proof cord will cost you almost as much as this (paid $35). The frequently purchased cord isn't really appropriate.

Got a gas Toro SnowMaster, no regrets it is badass. Not trying electric again until battery technology makes them comparable to gas in terms of raw performance.

I bought the sj623 on Amazon earlier today for 119. Better model and less money
