kit: LV-KT938HS6A5-T2

Looks like a coax system due to the mention of CCTV and DVR... tho in the details it also mentions PoE, I believe that to be an error at the walmart page on this.

Picture clearly shows BNC connectors on the DVR

Yes indeed it does, I just skipped to the spec sheet looking for FOV data

Hi Amptric,

It looks ok of a deal - google the kit # and you'll see some other vendors selling it, of course not for the full price that LaView has it for ( $550 )

La View, for reference:
https://www.laviewsecurity.com/8-...a-2tb.html

If your place does not already have coax wiring for a security camera I would recommend going IP PoE instead

How is this vs the Lorex 8CH 4k setup for $799?

Is it really need for a 1000 square foot home? BNC is more reliable then POE?

Hi HemiMuscle,

After watching tons of security video captures, and watching porch pirates turn their back to doorbell cameras as well as wear hoodies and hats, this is what I recommend just to cover your front house:

2x - For someone to reach your door, set it up so that they have to walk through at least 2 security camera FOVs and close enough to get a good ID image.

2x - If you're parking your car on your driveway, have the driveway covered by at least 2 cameras.

1-2x - At least one camera should get a good street view to help ID any car used, maybe 2 if you're trying to get license plates.

That's 5+ cameras already, of course with a smaller front of the house you can probably have 1-2 cameras cover multiple areas, so maybe 3-4 cameras covering the front of the house.

We've been discussing a very good deal on the $799 Lorex 4K kit from Costco thread which is basically the same price but you get a 16 port NVR!

Highly recommend you pop over there and check it out.

I have also posted the info at the end of the thread here:
