I have this model. I love it, you just unscrew the head and run it and the battery handle base under warm water for 3 seconds, shake off and store away. Never had mold or any issues.

FYI, lowest performing Sonicare Toothbrush. Rated at 2 x the plaque removal vs reg. Toothbrush. Plenty of $20 dollar deals lately on Series two Brushes which remove 6 x the plaque vs a reg. Toothbrush.
