I got the E514DW for $60 from a SD last week. At least on mobile, I cannot find the differences. Any reason to exchange/upgrade? I haven't opened it yet.

The E515dw boasts a built-in fax and a whole lot of extra buttons on its chassis, whereas the E514dw doesn't. Technically, the faxing capability makes the 5er model a true AIO.

As for upgrading, how would you go about it? I had a similar thought regarding my yet-unopened E310dw. Could I simply bring mine to the store, pay the price difference, and walk away with the other model?

if your store has stock, these are usually ship only items so you'll need to order and return the e310dw separately

It's my understanding that both models can use the same ultra-cheap aftermarket toner as the beloved Brother HL-L23*0DW line. This video [youtu.be] shows the minor mechanical procedure involved.

$70 is a crazy good price for a printer this good. I've had mine for about a year now and no problems at all. And the generic toners are cheap.

Thanks, sr71! Finally able to snag one of these AIO laser printers for cheap. Some of my documents still need to be faxed so bonus points for this model.

Thanks, I was afraid you'd say something like that... My problem is that I stacked three different discounts when I bought my E310dw, giving me a sub-$20 price along with several fillers effectively for free. I don't think I can replicate that feat at this point. It sounds like an upgrade via in-store product exchange (plus paying the price difference) would work, though -- if I find a nearby store carrying the 515dw?
