These have a high failure rate. I would especially avoid the refurbs. I'd recommend reading reviews on Amazon and crutchfield before purchase.

The one review on Harmon is enough. He said it just stopped working. Sounds like overheating to me. It says it has to be well ventilated, so under the seat is out!

i had one of these mounted in the trunk of a mustang. dont waste your time. bass output isnt very good and it being mounted vertically means you better have this thing screwed down good otherwise its going to come loose.

These get posted ever 3-6 months, and each time the reviews haven't changed. Apparently you can expect these subwoofers to die rather quickly, and likely outside your warranty period.

Had one in an explorer. It was quickly replaced (still worked though).

I had ones of these for a few years in my Accord just to add a bit of bass since it felt lacking. Don't expect massive bass, it's good for if you're car lacks bass complete like say you put in new speakers which end up having no bass.

If you put in new speakers and lost bass response, it means you didn't power the speakers properly. People buy afternarket speakers to replace their OEM speakers and then cry that they have no low end, because they didn't put them on an amplifier.

True, I was running everything through my JBL digital sound processor, and I purposely set it so my speakers didn't pump out bass. I wanted most/all bass to be coming from sub.

Most people do setup poor sound system running speakers straight to radio, which gets you low sound quality, but hey it works for most lol.

People loose bass because they get wrong speakers to begin with. If they want to replace oem speakers without head units than they need to get sensitive low power ones and those sensitive low power speakers sounds lot better than any oems. People usually buy high power speakers to replace oem and thinking it would work.
