CPO could save me $11 on tax but should a problem arise, Amazon is easier to deal with...for me.

Did you try adding it to your cart? It takes it off at checkout

*EDIT also, same price at CPO

From reviews, the micro height adjustment doesn't work well. Is it real?

I'll let you know when it comes...but I don't have any projects yet. I've had this in my cart for over a year waiting on a deal. Finally bit this morn. I've got the big brother and like it well enough. I have the plunge base for it and now will have to find a plunge base deal for this little Colt.

Very nice... Awaiting deal on a 1617EVSPK, this is tempting though... Would it be good for your "first router" ?

I got this for my first router.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002LAS...B00005RHPD

It will spend more time in my DIY router table. The times I've used it off the table I would have been better served with this Bosch Colt palm router. Of course now I've got to invest in 1/4" bits...

Looked at that one, dont think i need a $250 router :-)

I almost bought the $69 Plunge from HF. Almost bought the Lowes router/table combo for $129 (minus cpn).... Almost bought a lot of things LOL. I decided on the 1617EVSPK, just waiting for another drop.. I could get $20 off at Lowes, which is also good price

The 1617 is tried-and-true. Nothing at all wrong with that...except that it doesn't seem to qualify for the $30 off of $150, which would then be a no-brainer as to which to purchase!

Hate to thread crap on this a bit. The price is good , and for certain jobs this is a very nice router.

I actually own one of these routers (minus the plunge base) as well as a several other routers.

The router is nice and small, not very powerful, so it's really nice for rounding edges off of boards, trimming laminate., and some other light tasks. At 1.25 hp the router struggles to remove significant amount of material(bogs down), which is generally what you are doing with a plunge router, Thus I'm not too sure how useful the plunge base is.

I'd spend the extra for the Makita kit, and I've never even used the Makita kit. The Bosch is just that bad.

Check out the grizzly router table kit. Best deal around right now for a starter setup.
