Wow, solid top, back, and sides with an ebony fretboard and hard case for $350? Insane. If they offered the PM-3 at this price I'd be all in.

honest newbie question... is the extra $150 i pay for this worth the quality difference compared to a lower-priced yamaha or takamine for someone just starting to learn? or is this model really geared towards more advanced players? TIA

Can anyone tell if these are acoustic only or acoustic/electric?

Worth it? Absolutely. Those cheaper models won't come with the nice case this has, so that decreases the difference in price, too.

It's all solid wood and ebony neck. Those are quality features on much more expensive guitars. This is a screaming deal for such components. A guitar to last a lifetime.

My wife wants to get me a guitar for Christmas. It would be my first guitar. Good choice? Other recommendations would be welcome.
Thanks

What's the difference between the PM-1 vs PM-2? I'm a noob that wants to start learning guitar. Which one to get?

i'm a noob wondering the same thing, too. other than 1 less fret in PM-2 and body shape looks a lil different, seems very similar. although, the PM-2 deal does not seem to include the hard case, if i'm not mistaken. and i dunno what "semi-acoustic" means...

Semi-acoustic is used, in this instance, because the guitars have an electronic "pick-up" built-in, which allows you to plug into an amplifier / PA system. If you're a newbie, may not be something you care about, but nice to have.
