Saw this at the local Sam's Club for $199. Also available online. Nice price considering it was $299 last month.

How does this compare to the ever-popular boosted board?

(I realize the boosted board is a $1,500 board but I just want a frame of reference)

Compared to Boosted? Absolute crap. But that's only cause boosted is a thousand dollars more. Otherwise, the board sounds average. Only a 90 day warranty though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MT0U...oAbXFM33EF

Boosted board is also a long board, I don't think this one is.

Reviews say battery wears down quickly. it seems to go from 10 miles of range when new to dead or very low miles after a few months or a few cycles even.

You could extend battery life by keeping it charged to only 60-70% tops and never going below 20%.

Ofc that brings the boards range down to about 3-4 miles and the battery will still degrade these probably use shit chemistry.

Why can't costco carry cool stuff like this? I'm sure it would b higher quality if costco was selling it tho.

This board is basically junk marketed to uneducated consumers. If anything get the Liftboard Dual, which still isnt great but it's at least almost worth the money. They both need constant maintenance and replacement parts that aren't always easy to acquire without forum surfing to know what you need, not waterproof, and remotes are sketchy(i.e. Board decides to go full speed when you let off acceleration)

After researching these the Meepo board seems to come up a lot (albeit twice the price)

OK, I guess my disclaimer wasn't enough --

1. Is this board generally safe?
2. Is this board reasonable to use to commuting?

It is completely safe, if you never fall off. Otherwise, you are standing on a piece of wood that goes 15mph..That being said, I went with a Blitzart in this price range earlier this summer. Mine still runs good except the high speed gear went out (probably for the best). I have put some miles on it walking the dog. Super fun.

As far as commuting, as long as there is a smooth surface, safe space, good weather.

Is it really walking the dog?

Riding the dog?
