Same price on Amazon and Best Buy. If you have a Frys nearby the JBL Extreme is $177 today and tomorrow.

If you don't need splash proof and don't mind carrying something slightly bigger, consider the Harman Kardon Go+Play Bluetooth speaker. It's on sale for $200 too at BHPhotoVideo/Amazon/HarmanKardon.

I think HK Go Play sounds better than the JBL Extreme.

50 cents cheaper on Amazon with no code. Not a slick deal.

IT does sound better then the Xtreme.. its a very nice speaker.. usually 400+. I think the Xtreme has slightly more bass... but the HK Go & Play mini is more tuned.
I REALLY Want the Go & Play mini.
I have had the Xtreme, battery life is fantastic and can charge things with it.

IF anyone decides to buy an Xtreme from ebay or CL or offer up etc.... if the power button sticks out like the volume buttons, its a fake!
JBL speakers are grossly knocked off....the power button is ALWAYS Flush to the cloth. All the knockoffs are ruining the resale value of any JBL speaker because people think the fakes are real and wont buy yours. They would buy the fake.

If you decide to ever sell the Xtreme, Charge 3, Flip 4 or Flip 3.. you wont get a good price for them because the knockoffs set the price.

https://losangeles.craigslist.org...55233.html fake.

I own a couple of these. They are among the "best and loudest portable Bluetooth speakers" on earth!
But... Buyer Beware: The batteries they use will last a year if you're lucky before they start to not hold any sort of a charge! This is a known issue and jbl has replaced one of my speakers already. Google the issue...
