Seems like a good deal. My question, would an Nvidia card and gsync work with this?

An nvidia card would work. Gsync wouldn't nor would freesync.

nvidia card will work... it will not be gsync because this is a freesync monitor. but it will still hit 144hz with an nvidia gpu

I own this monitor. Its pretty nice.. but I've experience sync errors where the monitor will only do 60Hz after it occurs, requiring a restart, with a RX 480 graphics card. Not sure if its the monitor's fault, AMD, or potentially even the cable. Its pretty annoying.

Correction: I've got the 27" version. oops!

This is tempting. I need a monitor to go with this setup: https://slickdeals.net/f/10688552-costco-members-hp-pavilion-desktop-ryzen-7-1700-1tb-hdd-rx-550-615?page=6#comments

It seems to be compatible, but I am not a techie.

DisplayPort or HDMI? If HDMI, 1.4+ can get you to 120Hz, but I'm not sure if it caps there or can hit 144Hz. I know DisplayPort can hit 144Hz though. Try DP if you're using HDMI and see if that fixes it.

DisplayPort. I've tried 2 different cables, and it has happened on both. Its less frequent now after driver updates... but still super annoying. Note I edited my post... I have the 27" version, not the 24" version. Not sure that matters tho.

Why do people need a curve on a 24" monitor?

You don't need a $200 24" 144Hz monitor with that GPU which would barely get you 60 frames at very low settings...

Just get any decent IPS monitor.

I'm open to suggestions. Costco had a LG for 109.99, but it does not support windows 10 form the reviews I read. I just know I've had the PC sitting here for a month b/c my HP lv1911 only has a VGA port.

There's no such thing as "Windows" compatibility with monitors. If the monitor supports an input, then your computer should support it.

Here, get this: https://slickdeals.net/f/11043031-24-dell-s2418h-infinityedge-1080p-monitor-hdr-freesync-130-free-s-h?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

Supports 2 HDMI and 1 VGA. You'll be happy, I guarantee it.

If you wait, you might be able to find other 24" monitors for cheaper, but Dell's a good brand.

If you guys arent going to be able take advantage of the 144hz... Then buy something for half the price.

Can do 144hz just for office work? I hate mouse ghosting and would buy it for that. But would be powering it with i5 laptop and docking station.
