Amazon [amazon.com] has the LG 34UC79G-B for $316 for those that were looking for it. Saw it had a post earlier this month for just over 400, this is lower than the lowest CCC has reported for it. Ships in 1-2 days.

Pulled this info from another post:
2560x1080
14ms / 5ms GTG response time
50-144hz FreeSync range
100x100 Vesa

Edit: Annnnd it's dead from Amazon, hopefully those who got orders in get it lol.

Trust me you don't want this in 1080p. It took me weeks to used to it next to my 1440p and IF anything you should be okay if that's all you ever used is 1080P

I love my 34 inch 1080p panel. Dpi might be bad if you're used to 1440p, but sharpness and pixel density is closer to something like a 24 inch 1080p panel in 16:9 ratio since the 34 is not very tall being an ultrawide at 21:9.

Tldr, it's really not that bad if you're used to 1080p 24 inch screens.

for the 34" 21:9 curved: 1080p is fine for gaming (if anything, it'll let you achieve higher fps), and 21:9 movie immersion is wonderful. i'd highly recommend 1440p if you do any kind of multitasking/double website browsing/spreadsheets

34" 21:9 UW == 27" 16:9 as far as height / pixel density goes

I really wish Overwatch would support 21:9 correctly... I got rid of my UW for a 16:9 because they didn't. Oh well, it made me try out 144hz, which is farking night and day. If only I had gone 144hz over a decade ago.

Did anyone get a screenshot/print of the Amazon page while the deal was alive? I ordered this a few days earlier and would like to price match with my credit card.

I went from a 26" 16:10 1920x1200 monitor to a 1080p widescreen and I have no issues whatsoever. Clarity is fine. For general purpose computing and gaming 1080p is just about perfect if you get a good ISP monitor. You'll need to spend much more money if you want to game on a 1440 at acceptable frame rates and the cost jumps exponentially. 1080p is still the best bang for your buck. Bye the way, this deal is dead.

I bought this and love it. I was worried about the 1080p but is fine, sharpness was maxed out of the box though. Turn that down if you haven't.

I play overwatch just fine on a 3440x1440 monitor. I compared screen shots of game play on that monitor to that of my previous 4K monitor and the field of view is definitely wider. I don't know what you think it doesn't properly support it

How are you that blind? Lol it's not a true 21:9 support. It was actually supported in beta, then taken out, and put back in, but it's a farked version.

Chrome has Ultrawide add ons for Net Flix and Youtube. They work great. And if you use VLC you can set your aspect ratio as well. This was the best buy of 2017 for monitors in my opinion even better than the Gsync Dell with all its problems. You can drive 144hz + in most games with this resolution on a 1070 or 1080 unlike the other ultra wide monitor which needs SLI to run at high FPS and it only works in some games.
