Details:

iPad mini 4 has a gorgeous 7.9-inch Retina display, yet it's only 6.1mm thin and weighs just 0.65 pounds, making it small enough to hold in one hand. It has a powerful A8 chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture, advanced iSight and FaceTime HD cameras, Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity, iCloud, the breakthrough Touch ID fingerprint sensor, and up to 10 hours of battery life. It also includes great apps for productivity and creativity, and powerful new features in iOS 9 like multitasking. And there are even more incredible apps available in the App Store.

Correct, this price showed up lots of times, that's why you feel it, although it is not a regular price.
However, this iPad mini 4 isn't worth $300 any more. I'm hoping for a more advanced mini.

Outdated. You might want to reconsider this unless you have a very specific need for a mini.

Don't know why Apple stopped updating this model, obviously there's still a market for smaller tablets.

Seems like this thing is always on sale. Best Buy and Apple are trying to get rid of whatever stock they have but it doesn't seem to be working.

It's weird my dad specifically wanted an iPad mini for Christmas. I asked him like 10 times why not the updated one that's bigger. We ended up getting him the mini for this year. I figured mine as well on "sale". Seems to be a market for sure.

This is considerably slower than the "NEW" iPad, right? Whatever the latest model that was being sold for $250.

PS: I wouldn't get 32GB ipad anyway..

Don't update to ios 11 if it still has ios 10 installed. It really slows it down.

I have a mini 4 and got my son a mini 2 last year. I love the size over the bigger ones. I own an iPad Air 2 that barely get used anymore.

And for others, yes this is an older model. Comparable to an iPhone 6s in processing power. That said, it is not slow in anyway. I would say yes, it would perform less than the newer larger iPads but it is not slow at all. Most users wouldn't even notice a difference.

I've frequently read disagreements of a 32gb ipad, but don't know why it's frowned upon. I purchased two of the $250 iPads (one for the wife and daughter) with great hesitation. However, I decided to pull the trigger anyway, because I can't imagine what would be so limiting of a home device that has 32gb.

Why would an iPad limited to wifi only (which restricts its mobility usefulness to some degree) need more than 32gb? Assuming, most of it's use wouldn't be out of reach from a computer, home wifi network, or portable wifi filehub, in addition to other portable gadgets that let you transfer files on the go if absolutely necessary.

Just looking for some enlightenment. I don't think my girls would need much more than that anyway, but I do find it curious why 32gb isn't enough on a wifi only tablet.
