Google Home Max personal assistant speaker system - $340 plus tax at Lowes (my first deal post)

This is my first "deal post" so please be gentle. I've been trying to find good Xmas presents for my close friends. Was able to combine a coupon code with a purchase to get the Google Home Max for a final price (after CA sales tax) of $369.79. Delivery is not until 1/1/2018 so I'll just give them an "it's coming" print out - lol.

The Deal
Visit Lowes website (or use the Lowes app).
ADD
$399 - Google Home Max
Then ADD
$1.00 - Filler (5 x Hillman 1 count 1/4-in Lag Bolt (20 cents each))

After you've added both items to your cart go to this website (credit someone else) to wait for a refreshed $60 off $400 coupon code.

https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...Nu/pubhtml

Apply the coupon code and BAM! You're all set. Someone in another "google home max" deal thread said you also get one year of Google Play Music / YouTube Red for free. If the coupon code doesn't work, just wait for it to refresh and be quick. Smilie . Also, I think tax is based on the discounted price, which is cool.

Happy shopping and savings to all! I feel so happy to be able to contribute after all these years of reading.

So say that it's $400?

Hmm. I just bought mine directly through Google for $399.99 and love it. They had a promotion where they are going to send out a free Google Home which makes it about equivalent to this deal.

Definitely a good value if you're in the market. The Sonos 5 is $500 and very comparable.

This is not a deal. Your applying a coupon to a regular priced item which isn't even available now.
Who spends close to $400.00 on a gift to a friend? Will you be my BFF?
What? I know people who get $500-1000 gifts for close friends and family. Keep your negatove post out of the thread. This is a solid price on a good product.

I think many people are hesitant to fork over dollars 4 these next gen assistants. Amazon and Google are obviously trying to offload inventory (older stuff) I plan on sitting on the sidelines and waiting for it to hit mid 200 or better.

No stereo separation and sound-stage unless you get 2 of them. They are trying to make the Google Home sound better and market to people who love great sound and music but they put it all in one speaker... major fail. They make you buy 2 to get the full stereo experience. Which ends up costing you $800. Lots of systems would sound better then these for $800 I think.

Just buy a GH mini, a chromecast audio, and a really nice stereo setup for $700 and I think you have a better sounding system then 2 of these.

IMO, these should be $200-250 each considering you have to buy 2 unless you don't care about true stereo sound.

Aren't these made of plastic? Ask any audiophile if they ever liked any speakers made of plastic...

Sorry, not an audiophile. I was watching YouTube videos to learn more about this product and maybe they were wrong. Said something like "They are stereo when placed horizontal and mono when placed vertical. If you place them vertical, then you're supposed to have 2 of them I guess." To each his/her own.

Do they still have this promotion? Glad you like it as I'm planning to buy one to keep as well!

Yes they are stereo while placed horizontal as they have 2 small speakers (left and right) next to each other within the box. In this scenario why even bother being stereo? The whole point of stereo sound is to hear the majority of sound from the right speaker with your right ear and the majority of sound from the left speaker with your left ear. That's what is meant by stereo separation and sound-stage. Anyway, this kind of audio talk is for a different forum all together.

All I'm trying to say is Google is trying to target a consumer that cares about audio quality but decided to forgo one of the greatest features of quality music... Unless you want to pay double...Mad

I thought the exact same thing when I saw the presentation. Even if it is the exact same sound quality of a sonos people are going to buy the sonos because it is a luxury brand. I think it would make more sense to build a soundbar. That way for the majority of people it would be one device to buy and take care of all the speakers you would need.

Mono when vertical.
Stereo when on it's side.
Decent review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWuPwcwl214

Yes, $400 is a bit much. I might bite at $250 but 15% off a newly released product is way better than paying full price. Deal for those that are in the market NOW.
