someone explain these to me? did they basically take a cheap plastic doll you'd find in a coin operated vending machine, stick it in a ball and slap a $10 label on it with a trendy online acronym?

Thanks OP was able to grab one online. And yes all they did was take a doll out the quarter vending machine and wrap it with stickers. Instant millions

Standard price. Only thing is that they're in stock because every girl wants one. They are this year's Hatchimals.

Yup. Just like every other cheap plastic toy out there, and just like every future cheap plastic toy. Same toys, different packaging geared towards a different generation of kids. I just watched a news show that interviewed the owner of the company. said he created these to cater to generation of kids that love watching unwrapping videos on youtube...something they could own and make their own unwrapping videos/events.

These aren't for slickdealers. They're for parents that want to get their kids something for xmas. You really have to let go of that SD train of mind when it comes to finding some kind of value in xmas presents for kids. There is none. They're all cheap plastic toys in shiny new packages that are way overpriced. Always have been, always will be.

Yeah, they're just a different kind of cheap laugh out loud

my LO wanted 2 things for xmas. A new dress and some of these LOL things. She loves watching those unboxing videos and just wants to make her own. So yeah, way overpriced for what they are....but sometimes the smiles are worth more than the toy Smilie

it's only $10 grinch, you talk with such anger over a little kids toy...get over it. Kids have fun with it plain and simple.

"Delight a special child with this L.O.L. Surprise! doll. The specific toy inside the ball is a mystery covered by six layers: a secret message, collectible stickers, a bottle, shoes, an outfit and an accessory. This L.O.L. Surprise! doll reveals an additional secret when fed or dipped in water for continuous fun."

I managed to get 10 of the big surprise balls from Wal-Mart before the craze. Demand is high but nobody has responded to my Craigslist ads. Thinking of putting them on eBay or something.

I was in Walmart yesterday and happened to be walking by two associates that we're stashing some of these away for "friends". They were hiding them in a cart that had a bunch of damaged/clearance type of stuff.

I told her I wanted to buy one and she got mad at me!
