So that's YMMV then. Not available for shipping either too when I look.

I'm been an Apple guy for years but it's ridiculous that the base-level SSD is still 128GB. I know lots of stuff is in the cloud these days, but the minimum should really be 256GB by now, especially for the price.

I'd say this is worth it; maybe it's not the best price ever, but it's a good price for a very good computer/laptop. I recently shopped around for a MacBook with slightly higher specs (settled for a used one that works very well), so from my experience in my area this price is pretty good. I noticed there are TONS of good reviews on Best Buy, and I also saw there's an open box model for $750. (Note: I don't think this model has the Retina screen...which is a bummer)

Agreed that your phone or iPad has the same or more is ridiculous. Minimum should be 512!

That being said, I'm amazed by how little this was discounted all xmas, other than black Friday this is the only decent deal since late November.

As much as like to save money, id rather spend the extra $20 and taxes than to deal with Fry's shady "New" items and return hassles.

Depends on how you use your laptop to be honest. Look into your credit card company too as most credit card companies extend the warranty by a year, I've done this with my Amex on a laptop I purchased.

Also, as long as you live near an Apple store, you can use the genius bar to see what's going on with your computer even after a year.

I have this exact model right now. I don't like it for 2 reasons.
1. The touchpad is not the advanced pressure sensitive that the MacBook Pro's have. It is only clickable on the lower half, and requires more pressure than it should.
2. The screen resolution is too low (1440x900)
That's besides the limited storage and RAM.
My recommendation for someone considering this is to save your money for a MacBook Pro.
