I believe that this is a closeout item which generally sold from $50-$100 more in other stores. I don't think that you can find a new one this cheap from a major retailer. I have this vacuum, and it works very well on hard and soft surfaces. My only beef is that there's no warning when the canister should be emptied except increasingly less suck. The discounted price from a legit retailer, the included accessories, and the full five year warranty are why I posted.

Curious to know why the thumbs down as well... sorry OP, seems like a good deal! I had debated between this and the Shark Duoclean powered lift away from Amazon over Black Friday weekend. Haven't been as impressed with the Shark as I expected. We've got a lot of wood/tile, some carpet and stairs. May be returning the Shark for this.

There's a busybody in every crowd.

The canister is clear unless you've been vacuuming fine dust, and then gauging the level of contents is a crap shoot. More importantly, the onset of poor suction almost always occurs before the canister is completely full, and that onset doesn't occur at the same "% of full" point each time. So, for several reasons it would be nice to get a performance-based heads-up that a canister dump would be needed soon.

I have this unit. There's no way you can EVER convince me that you can't tell when the canister needs to be dumped just by looking at it. Every single Dyson has a similar canister and there are no cries from the masses for the lazy feature you are asking for. Let me guess, you also want a feature that tells you when there's hair in the roller? And another feature to take it out for you

Exceptional vacuum even at full price. You will not regret it! Dyson didn't blow up the vacuum industry by making interior products.

I won't try to EVER convince you, because life is too short for that lost cause. I get it: you disagree. Point made, so hit the road and move on to haunt another post.

Sorry but only a moron would need a light to know when its time to empty. Like my other dyson when its full, it's obvious.. dump it and continue.

Sorry, but only a moron would come to a Dyson thread about a vacuum that he owns and pester the OP about a totally unimportant issue instead of contributing his overall ownership experience with the posted item.

Is that an Amex offer I would see in my account?
