Almost gave it a thumbsdown for no price in title but since it seems to be a good price I refrained from either a TD or a TU

Pretty good price @ $152. Just bought the same drive last month for ~$174. A bit of a warning to anyone thinking of buying one, however: When idle, this drive has a somewhat annoying jolt every five seconds or so. It has something to do with preserving the drive's longevity, from what I've read. It can get really irritating if you have a quiet setup. I can also feel the jolt through my computer desk, as my tower is sitting on top of the desk, which is probably more annoying than any noise it makes. I don't use this is my primary drive (have a 1TB EVO 960 NVME), so it is idle most of the time.

I'd be wary of a HDD jolt being passed off as preserving the drive...same thing kills Seagate HDDs dead...

The difference is SEAGATES have SUCKED for YEARS and cannot be trusted with data. WDs are generally engineered well, especially the blacks.

It's just moving the head to prevent wear on tracks when it's idle. Blacks have been doing this for years without data loss.

Amazon was not comming up as a seller but there was a 3rd party (96% rating) that had it for the $152 and "Fullfilled by amazon).

Worth the risk or is there a chance this may be a refurb?

I wouldn't take a risk on FBA. Only Amazon as the seller for electronics or high priced items. Too much fraud/knockoffs/refurbs with the 3rd parties. Feedback for this particular seller has some pretty shady practices laid out.
