Can see you're concerned! Traditionally, solder is part lead, makes the process a lot easier because it interacts well with other metals like copper. Newer non lead based solder has been noted to be more difficult to "stick" but still work fine. The fumes are definitely not good for people, but if you're only working on occasional projects, it shouldn't be an issue. Per google top result: "soldering is usually carried out at a temperature of around 380 C and significant lead fume is only evolved at temperatures above 450 C. So exposure by inhalation is normally insignificant." When you typically hear about lead poisoning, it's from prolonged inhaling of lead paint dust or people who work with lead daily in factories.

Reviews seem incentivized. Either really bad or better than brand name solder stations.
Still, $4.49 is cheap. Comes with tips and some lead solder. And prime shipping.

When you say lead solder, do you mean solder made of lead (Pb)?

Yes, it says it's 60/40. 60% tin/40% lead. Sn/Pb. No mention of rosin Flux core. 0.031 inch = 0.787 millimeter diameter.

Would this be a good kit for a beginner to start with? Cause I'd like to learn I got a few things I can practice on.

Almost worth it for the solder alone...got one. Those little solder pocket packs are like $2.00 from what I've seen.

Soldering is very forgiving. For $5, i bought as an emergency kit. Worse case scenario, it craps out on you or doesn't perform well, i.e. doesn't get hot enough to solder or gets too hot and burns your components (less likely). If you're going to do a lot of soldering I suggest getting a real kit from a company like Hakko.
