While looking for a level I found this Bosch GLL 2 on Home Depots website for $79.99 but when added to the cart the price dropped to $39.88. I tried a couple stores with them in stock and the price dropped for those stores.

Maybe in store pick up only?

When added to cart price drops to $39.88.

Im interested in a laser for very basic stuff like hanging pictures and stuff. Any thoughts on getting this versus ones you can find for like 15-$20 on amazon?

I have a couple similar type laser levels but I rarely use them. I picked one of these up a few weeks ago and found the built in clamp makes this much more useful. I've used this more in the past weeks than my previous ones were used in 2 years, and I'm not messing with tripods. I went out and bought 2 more for my sons.

I hang pictures for a living -- for museums, galleries, and collectors. A 24" box level, sometimes called a spirit level, is the workhorse tool for this sort of task. I have two laser levels in my full kit, but I would never ever leave the house without my box level.

They are very easy to use: just mark your positions on the wall with a pencil or some painters tape.

As for which level - go down to Home Depot, and find yourself a $10 level. Then, for quality assurance, check the accuracy by stacking it against one of their $70 levels.

Thanks for the heads up! I had bought one for myself when it first went on sale then was planning on buying another as a gift. I was disappointed to see it was back at full price when I checked their website. Still a few in stock in my area so heading there today. Repped!

I ordered one for store pick up in San Carlos (San Francisco area). They called me and apologized because it was a "ghost." meaning people kept ordering it, but it didn't exist in their stores. They suggested I order from another store that might have genuine inventory--so I'm waiting to see if they cancel that order as well.

Thanks OP. Got one this morning. Like a previous user said, even though the app said there were 10 in stock, my first order was cancelled. Tried again 2 days later and it went through fine.

Found this in my store in NJ on their clearance table at the front of the store. Might be a good idea to check your local Home Depot clearance section.
