Final Fantasy Dimensions is also on sale for iOS. It shows up as a free download in the iTunes store but has in-app purchases to buy the full game. IAP for Chapters 1-4 was $13.99 and dropped to $6.99.

Also, all these games have the same sale prices on Google Play.

I'd be quadruple dipping on nearly every one of those titles if I bought them on iOS and I'm fairly certain I'd never play them... but there's gold in them hills!

Even since I tried gta on iphone, I figure I will never play these classic titles on phone again

It would be great if they updated some of them use modern display resolutions. On both iPhones and modern Android devices they look like they optimized for sub-720p displays.

Man, the 'classic' Final Fantasy games will always be dear to me. But like others have said, chances are really low that I would actually play through them on the iPad.

Thanks for the post though!

FF tactics on iOS is great, especially on iPad. But Square really needs to add controller support to these games. I got one of those small steel series controllers off eBay cheap and it's completely changed gaming on the iPhone for me. GTA and Don't Starve are definite standouts with it.

This might be a 'dumb' question, but does any one know if any of the apps support non-scaled iPad use, other than the two that specifically mention iPad?

I know that I & II do not.

Can anyone confirm for me how they look on a 10.5" iPad Pro?

I played FF Tactics on my IPhone 4 and 5. It works well, but be warned, the phone gets really warm! Not where it hurts to touch, but like a heat pad

I have the 9.7" iPad and FFIII (for iPad) looks pretty decent. There is definitely still some pixelation, but it's very minor. I'm used to playing retro games so I don't really notice it much. It seems on par with the Nintendo DS version, but with a larger display.

FFI & FFII were not so great on the iPad, as they were for the iPhone and use the built in scaling. I didn't care for it and returned them (had purchased for full price a while ago). To me, but GameBoy Advance versions seem superior there.
